Have to add this classic A super simple snell - you just have you have access to both ends of the leader. This is the only thing I tie on circle hooks now. Thanks Catsnstripers!

I always get a good chuckle when I watch that! Ha!
A super simple snell? If I remember right, took you bout 6 months to figure it out! Ha. That's an an awesome knot though.

No, it was the other snell I was trying to tie that I somehow managed to keep tying backwards and would totally unravel.... This one is so simple, even I can do of

This is a great knot. When I first saw the video a few months ago, I tried it, and have found that you get better hook sets with it because it will pulld your hook straighter than tying to the eye of the hook, Thanks Travis

Question for you guys.. I just tied this knot.. I went seven loops like and then just took the line back through the eye of the hook and pulled it up tight.. Seem to hold great but, it almost seemed to easy to undo the knot.. Just a bit of downward pressure and the knot comes undone.. Did I miss a step or is this how the knot it suppose to be?

I use 10-12 loops. Never had it come undone

I am practicing with 6 pound line as well... So maybe that is why it seems to become undone so easily. I will try with bigger line and I will try 10 wraps as well..

I use this knot on any hook that has an offset eye...all of my circles and octopus hooks. I have never had it come loose as well. Although it is quite easy to get it undone if you push the line back through the eye, it is very hard to get undone if the line stays through the eye..which it will if there is a swivel at the other end or the line is a foot or so in length.
To me, and I may be very wrong, adding more wraps does not make it more secure but may enhance hook sets by keeping the hook more straight as you swing.

If I'm understanding this knot correctly ( Travis really does a nice job of explaining it)....this is the same knot I use for single line stingers...tie the Kite-Fisher to the treble, then again to the primary hook above it. I do think the number of wraps can help keep the length of line against the shank stable and in place, vs rotating around the shank...not sure of that but I like wrapping about to the point of the hook...usually 6-10 wraps. It can't really come undone....any pull makes it tighter.

Yam - I just reread your comment and I think we're saying the same thing....keeping the hook "stable". If the underline shifts under the wrap my sense is it can become kinda twisted.
