Hello all. I am very interested in fishing the bass tourneys at SML but do not know where to find the info for the tourneys (rules, requirements, etc...). Also, I am looking for a partner to fish with. Any help will be greatly appreciated. As always thanks in advance!! I realize it may be a little unusual to ask for a partner online, but I am no weirdo, and am hoping to learn all I can from whomever wants to give me a shot. I am at the lake most of the summer and camp near Penhook. Lastly, I am looking for a partner for the Oakley Big Bass at Lake Murray in Sept.

Contact VTSuperFluke (Lacy) on here - he's involved with a club (I think the SML BassMasters) and can likely point you in the right direction on some. Also, check with Captain's Quarters as I think at least one local bass tourney weighs in there each week.

They have a Friday nighter out of state park every Friday night from 8pm til 2am. They have a Saturday nighter outta penhook every Saturday nite from 7pm til 3am. They also have a Friday nighter outta gills creek marina not sure on the hours. Most of the summer tournaments run at night due to insane boat activity during the day. W & W Novelty on lakeside drive in Lynchburg has a poster board up as you walk in, Normally have tournaments advertised on the board. Most all are open tournaments.

Prodigal...I'm part of the SML Bassmasters. We meet every third Wednesday of every month at the Moneta Public Library at 7 pm. So we have a meeting this upcoming Wednesday, July 17. We have eight club tourneys throughout the year and four open tournaments as a fundraiser for the club. You can fish as a boater or as a nonboater. I have been a member for two years and have really enjoyed it. I also fish the Fishers of Men VA West trail, Angler's Choice, and The Conrad Bros. USA Bassin trails as well. Most trails have wrapped it up for the year but there are open tournaments nearly every weekend, especially into the fall. Check out central va basscast, or I think it may be just thebasscast.com and they have a schedule geared towards tournaments on SML. Good luck!
