I've been going up there (mostly to the same lake) for 34 years now. Its a small lake at 6 miles long and 3/4 mile wide at most. Fishing has declined a bit. We catch and release and many don't. This year my son and I had a couple days where we boated 80+ fish a day---each. Got home and my thumbs are raw from lipping the bass. Average size is about 15 inches and right at 2 lbs. Catch the occasional 4 or 5 lber. We catch mainly largemouth a few smallmouth and pike, and the occasional walleye. Anyone who hasn't gone up to Canada fishing should give it a try. With the economy the way it is many places up there are hurting and reducing their prices a great deal. The place I go has always been pretty inexpensive. We stay at a nice lodge, take our own boats, and food. Total cost for the trip this year which included a hotel in Watertown, Ny, all food and lodging was 425.00 per man. Extras are drinks and gas up and back. Total costs for the trip this year was 600.00. Not bad for a weeks fishing.

Ive been up to a place in northern Ontoria and Minisota. Wish I could get back to Minisota, boundry waters. Canoe in and portage from lake to lake. Depending on the lake you are on, smallies, pike, musky, walleye, and lake trout. You can get to some places that gets little fishing presure due to its remoteness.
