First I apologize for not posting ANY reports this spring or early summer. I do not have any internet service at the new house. Nor do i have any cable either. I just squeek when i walk. All my own fault.
This spring was awesome. I had my heart broken more then once. With big fish busting my gear. Bent 3x strong hooks, snagged and hangs. and simply just the hook popping lose. Big shad and planer boards were the ticket. Casting artifical caught fish, i did bite on to the alabama rig and its a love hate relationship. I never really did do well on cutbait this spring but most of the fish we caught was decent fish. Several citation fish. And alot of nice solid fish.
May was good if you wanted to ride to the dam. I did alot of flathead fishing and did very well. Live baits fished shallow as well as some fresh cut bait. Focusing on long tapering points and 15ft and less of water.
June was good for flatheads and stripers. I had a hard time figuring out what to fish for. BOTH was the answer alot of times....
A full spread was the answer in June. Planers, floats, downlines at various depths. Freelines and light lines. Alewives and gizzards. Although alot of our bigger fish came from Big Gizzards. I never really did see alot of big schools in june. But we still had good numbers day.
End of June i took a speed run down to OBX and slammed a few sheepsheads, spade fish, flounder and speckled trout. Nothing monsterous but always fun. MAN i'd love to move to the carolina coastline. Sheeps went up to 8lbs and spades around 4lbs. Most specks an flounder were barely legal size. But they was in numbers. No cobia and No red or black drum. I "hope" to hit the bay end of the month, but i'm uncertain if i'll be able to. But end of August i got a week down there!
RECENT Report!
Get your 2ounce sinkers in numbers. Its downline time. Hit some monster schools just this past tuesday. And the flotilla is out. Hitting downlines from 35-55ft. Tried to drop jigs but downlines would load up.
ALL BIG FISH HAVE BEEN RELEASED!!!!
I do have some good video, i hope to put together soon and get it shared.
Heres some pics from March until recent. I dont know why when I uploaded my pics from my camera and phone to my laptop. It scatters them. So i apologize there not in order. Most should start from recent until March. but really there all mixed up. And sorry if I double posted a picture or two. Go get a drink, or put a dip in b/c its a hell of alot of pictures...
