Everyone,
just started the illusive search for Stripers on SML. Just getting geared up and looking for a 15-20 gallon bait tank but I am having a difficult time shelling our $500 for something I can only use on weekends. Anyone have a high quality used one?

For a SBT, I was looking one recently and had trouble finding one. There is a tackle shop in Clarksville that carries them, but everyone was out. There are some different brands floating around C-list, but if you see a SBT on there, you better call quick! They seem to go fast.

Finally decided to try something different. ordered a "bait jacuzzi" from a guy in Georgia. I have a friend who had one and has been very happy with it. took advice and got a 26 gallon. $275 delivered. I will give you updates on how well it works in the future.

Reason why its hard to find a SBT II right now is a couple of reasons. They are popular and worth the money you shell out for them. There is only one guy who builds them by hand. They are not mass produced by a machine. The guy that makes them had back surgery back in Feb. which put him down for a while which of course ment he wasnt making any, which in turn trickeled down to the shops who are ordering them. I know a lot of shops, once they get them in they are normally completely sold out withing a short while. Deffanitly worth the money. I know its hard to swallow the price. I was in the same boat as you. I made one out of a blue 55g barrel wich worked so so and only durring the cool months at that. I finally just said screw it and saved up for a 50g. The main thing is the insilation durring the hot months that helps keep the bait alive.

Thanks for all of the input. I am suppose to get the bait jacuzzi today. Has motor in main tank if my main concern. If it does not work...I will have to break down and open my wallet up wider. Looks like there is a bigger challenge to catch the bait(especially since I am just learning how to cast a net) and keep it alive than catching a striper
