a dummy just floating around That should have been my screen name. There are no electronics (or electrics) on my boat so I just sort of remember where I have sometimes caught some and hit those spots. Old school or no school, I'm not sure.

Seriously, we've all done that, but it's more of an educated guess based on years of time on the water and season. The best advice I can give is to keep a log or have a very good memory. They're are a lot of fish in the lake, but sometimes it seems like they've disappeared. From what I've seen, where i'v been fishing, the fish haven't schooled up good yet, mostly scattered fish and small bunches. Not saying they aren't in other places on the lake, haven't been looking ...yet. When they school up good, you'll know it....won't be long.......Please!!!! everyone remember the summertime fishing thread.

I'm stubborn, but in the summer, I will look, look, look, look, and keep on looking til I find fish. You're generally either on them or not if they're schooled up. It's best to be proactive in finding them I think. I look around the mouths of the major creek arms, bends in the river of the main channel, and the lower lake area around islands, humps, shoals, creek mouths, etc. Experience really helps and when you get good at it, you can almost predict where they'll be at different times of the summer.
Good electronics make a big difference. I can find schools faster with the LSS than I ever could with regular sonar.
The only other thing to do is make friends. It's a big lake..you can't cover it all yourself.
