Does anyone at all use braid in salt water? I know mono is standard for salt but wondering if braid holds up? Ok for surf fishing or better for boat fishing?? Any help really would be helpful!!

Depends on what your fishing around as far as structure. Lots of structure, use braid. Otherwise it's a personal preference I guess.

Basic surf fishing. I hear you can cast further with braid on spinning gear, but distance isnt always best.

I use 20lb pro power braid for surf fishing. Been using it for several Yeats now Never had any problems. May need to be a little mote careful on the cast if not using a shock leader but never had any more issues than I did with mono. Hope this helps.

I use it casting lures in the salt, but not bait fishing. It is not good in a crowd, where I fish there are normaly many lines out, braid can be a bear in that situation. If you are all spinning gear, and mostly casting, should be fine for most things.

Like above said. Depends. When just bottom fishig double rigs I use mono. If I am fishing fish finder rigs I use braid. And my shark rod has 100# braid with a #200 shock leader.
