I fished Sat. 25th. Where I was the shad were there ,ya just could see them for all the waves. I was fishing for largemouth, in about a 45 minute window I got four 2 1/2 -4 1/2 lbs. Lost 3 at the boat. Missed 5 got a 7 1/2 lb. striper and hung another that was bigger, peeled off about 30 yards of line then came loose, Straightened the hooks (mustad triple grips # 4s) on my redbug. Glad I had that 25 lb big game on the reel, he mighta got my redbug. Fished last night only got 2 bass, one a beautiful 4 lb smallie, Then got 3 striper 3, 4 1/2 and 7 lbs. They came up good around 12;30 - 1;30. I love bass fishin but I'll have ta say them striper are some hard pullin sonofagunz. Most all of the fish came on the thunderstick, a couple on the redbug (modified redfin).

shad were flippin on the banks those nights....but the carp were also spawning those nights and maybe you could of confused their rolling on each other as stripers? I was getting all excited about hearing the "stripers busting" under boat docks, on banks, and in the middle channels of the lake to only see carp gold. maybe a reason you didn't catch anything. I saw like 6-8 carp rolling as a school almost, and they made my fish finder look like an active school of stripers, really annoying. I think they are done spawning now though. I actually had a carp bite a live shad....which I thought was unusual, anyone every have this happen?
