New to the board but heading up to SML this weekend (Sat-Monday) We keep our boat at Smith Mountain dock and Lodge down at the mountain. Just checking to see if anyone has a good starting point for us this weekend. Are they still at back of CC or are they moving back to deeper water. Are they still hitting at night etc. Bull Run? Any help would be great.

since your near the dam you dont need to go far. that area is good right now. id use live during the day and thundersticks at night. also during day have a rod with fluke rigged you never know when or where they may start busting this time of year

Thanks very much. I figured they would be making there way back to the dam area but thought with the cooler weather they may still be up rivers and creeks. Will have the flukes ready.

Don't know about the strippers, being Memorial Day weekend probably hanging on the back of a Sea Ray cruiser or such ;D
My guess is the stripers are staging to start their move back out - tons of fish in the back/mid of the coves in the Craddock area last weekend that were mostly focused on spawning and we also found some around the dam. They have been down there heavy for a few weeks now - I'm sure there will still be a good number hanging not to far this coming weekend.
That said, there are fish mid-lake on the Roanoke side as well.... know of a few decent mid/high teen ones caught early this week.
