Fished Thur, Fri & Sat nights. Thur. night fished the area of Becky's Creek and the bite was slow but caught a catfish on a thundersticks, a short Striper (15") but I did get into a fight with a nice fish. Caught a 33" Striper that put up a real good fight. Scales malfunctioned so no weight but it was a fat fish and est. weight around 20 lb. Fri. Night fished with my son. After storm passed ran down to the State Park and fished to about 4am. We boated 8 Striper from 15" to 23" Sat night went back to State Park with my son. Windy conditions and shad didn't come up till around 11:30. On the 3rd cast and before I got a lure in the water my son boated a 23". The fish started to pop and then the skies opened up and the fish were gone. Not A very pleasant boat ride back to the Hales Ford Harbour Inn. Could have been a better outcome but all in all was a great time. Only second time fishing night bite and had a good time fishing with my son who just graduated college and started a new job. We definitely will be coming ba :)ck.

Nice report! Thanks for sharing!
I wish I could get my scales to show 20lbs on the 33" fish. I bought a cheaper pair off ebay as a spare and it showed 8lbs on an actual 14lber..I can't win!

That was fat fish. It made 5 runs on me before we could get a net on it. Everytime I would get it to the boat it would turn a start stripping line again. Scales may be off too. ;D ;D

I've read the rule of thumb is that each run equals 5 lbs ;D

I think my problem Hillbilly is that my Bogas are spot on the money! Haha. We caught a LM in the Optimist that was showing the 6.5lb line on my Bogas. Weighed it in at Foxport..6.60lbs. $300 trash fish!!
They get an automatic 10lb upgrade if they break you off after three runs! I went to 25-30lb mainline with 25lb leaders and nothing breaks me off anymore unless I'm in my lil secret spot, and they never weigh more than 20lbs for me. Heartbreaking. The monsters are just foul hooked 15lbers..haha.
