1st time to try the night bite here at Smith Mountain. Went out Saturday night around 10:30. Decided try slightly above Hales Ford Bridge the first night. Sjad were working and a few pops but went about 2 hours before they decided they liked what we were throwing their way... Three boats boated 12 stripers, all between 16- 22". Lost another 8-9. Fish were small but still a blast. All on Smack Jacks, thumdersticks and redfins. Tried the same area Sunday night. Thought we would stay close since they were forecasting for a much colder night. They were right! Not much bait or fish working until 1:30. Lasted about 1 hour but no takers. Guess it might have been the drop in the water temp. 3 boats... 1 fish lost at the boat Think we'll head down to Craddock and dam area to see if we can improve our chances and find some bigger fish.

Thanks for the report - we tried a while on Friday night from around 11 till 1 a little ways below the bridge - the ales were working the banks and we heard some blow-ups but whenever we got close the blow-ups stopped - we ended up catching bait for the next day ;D
