I'm sorry to see the lack of activity on this board. I was hoping to check how people have been doing this summer.
I'm heading to SML tonight and will do a little fishing around Gills Creek Marina in my bright orange kayak. Say hi if you see me out there! I'll leave a report next week. In the meantime, feel free to post summer reports here!

I’m catching fish dropshotting 15-20 foot depths around docks. Watermelon type colors, but red flake is important. Caught a 4 pounder yesterday.

I went last Sunday and had a good morning. Put in at Hardy at daylight and headed down the lake, stopping across from the tennis courts. Worked down the bank, fishing the rocks with a shakey head and a popper. The popper hooked up right off with a small keeper, then caught another one about 14", also on the popper. Made several more stops, working my way down and into Beaver Dam creek. Caught fish at every stop, but nothing over 2 lbs., lost several nice fish, and had multiple blow ups that resulted in misses. Every fish came off the popper in less than 3' of water, they were out on the points and rock banks in the main channel. Beaver Dam was dirty in the back, so didn't stay in there. Water was stained but cleared up the farther down you went, small debris was floating, but nothing big that I saw. Fished till 11:00 and headed home, gotta keep Momma happy you know. I'll be back this Sunday and see if I can find a few more, nothing like being on the water in the morning when the world starts waking up.

Caught a 4 pounder yesterday. i lost what i estimate to be a 4 pounder back on memorial day weekend using a watermelon with red flake senko. I was so bitter, he tail walked right at the dock i was fishing from and spit the hook. looking to redeem myself in a few days when i come down for 4th of july weekend. of course for me the hardest part about fishing 4th of july weekend from the dock is not that im shore bound, or all of the recreational traffic on the lake scaring the fish, its finding an opportune time to take a leak when i think no ones looking. last year had a boat full of people yelling at me from across the cove that i hadnt noticed before i started lol

Slow deep "bite" last week for me. Didn't do much in the PM with the afternoon storms but got some fish on finesse jigs and senkos on deep blow downs. Pulled a solid fish on a whopper plopper off a slow tapering point and also got a few on deep cranks when I found some bait. Docks with drop shots as well...though I got abused by 2 or 3 bigger fish on those tiny hooks! Maybe 10 fish total, all in the AM before 10. Seemed like rocks were key...near the dock, on the bottom or rip rap close to drop offs.

Mostly just lurk but I think I can add a little info to the board. Usually bass fish in Gills Creek and Blackwater area but will boat a striper if the occasion arrives... Right now my buddy and I are catching some nice largemouth on points in about 8 to 10 feet of water. Usually rock or stumps located in the immediate area and are using watermelon color worms and small DT-6 Rapalas or Bandits. Bump lips of crankbaits off bottom and hesitate a second or two after bait hits rock or stump. Slow retrieve on the worm (rigged texas rig or carolina) with slight rise of the rod tip... Try to get on the lake as early as possible and fish until 10 or 11... Sounds simple but that is what's working for us right now...

Tip for the day. Find some bait balls with you sonar and drop a jigging spoon amongst them and 💥 bam 💥 4 pound fish on. That's one way to do it.
