I’d say it’s a bit early. Most stripers are moving shallow now. Mid May is a good time to start in my experience.

Thanks for the help johnr, would a sassy shad artificial on planer boards bank side free line (No weight) be ok? How far off the board?

I dunno, never tried it. Casting bucktails parallel to the banks works well right now.
I don’t like the idea of pulling artificial on boards near the bank. Theyd tend to sink and snag.
