3-23. Got bait pretty easy. Water was 46-47. Wind was strong and some sun was out. Put out a bankside spread in a creek back and had a couple blowups. I lost one. That was it.
3-25. Got bait fairly easy again. Water was 47-48. Wind was gusty from the eastish and the sun was bright. I set out a spread again in the very back of a creek that was up to 51 degrees in the super shallow water. As soon as I got over 10’ of water, it was blowups on blowups. None hooked and I was having a hard time in the skinny water with the wind. I headed for deeper water and set out a bankside spread below the bridge on a main channel point. I rolled up into 20’ of water and it was loaded with stripers. Wind was a B, but I managed to put two in the boat and break another off in just a few minutes. I went thru them 3-4 times and was getting blown up every pass but no commitment. I lost one more right after sunset.
Careful out there. I blasted a half sunken dock set of stairs in the main channel below the bridge today. It was choppy and I never saw it till I hit it. Totally trashed my prop, again.
Thankful winter is finally over now. There can’t possible be more winter weather right?
