Yes, asking for your opinion. ...
I know most people look for bait with their main motor, but, do you drop your trolling motor when throwing on them?
Does the larger gas motors scatter them more?
When I'm by myself, I'm using the trolling motor. When I'm going with someone else, they have me drive the boats main motor while they're throwing on them. It seems like we have a harder time when we use the main motor, not to mention that it's harder to keep the front end off the bank and docks.

I use the main Motor sometimes looking for them but always throw on them with the trolling motor. If I am heading back to shallow areas I go in with the trolling Motor.

When I have someone with me who is capable, I let them ride us around with the gas engine while I catch bait. If I’m alone, then I have to use the trolling motor.
One thing I’ve notice is that a certain rpm of my gas engine will send the bait jumping in shallow water, so it’s a good tool to help know if bait is in the area. I haven’t noticed that it is any harder to catch them with either method.

Thanks to all for replying. Went today and got skunked, if you don't count two green backs and a bronze back.
