WT: low 50s high 40s AT: 30s in the morning rising to 50ish, overcast Technique: 6 rod spread. 3 bankside boards, closest to the boat weighted and other two freelined. 2 channel side boards weighted, and a mongo on a float out the back. Bait: few dollar bills, couple 6-7' ales, mostly money makers, and one super Mongo (15")
went to the lake this past weekend with intentions of killing one more deer before the season was over. Once that started to not work out too well for me i turned to away from the woods and towards the water.
went out catch bait Sunday evening and it was hard. could only find very small bait and it was deep, 25ft+. Woke up extra early Monday and was catching bait just before sunrise and the bait had moved shallower as the warmer weather was coming. had bait by 730am. fished a the back of a a creek for most of the evening on Monday with not much love until out last pull produced a good 31" fish.
Tuesday morning picked a different creek in the BW area and went far back. there was action immediately with bait and fish everywhere. in a quick 45 min we ended up boating 3 fish, biggest was just shy of 32", other two were under 30". we had 3 other fish come unbuttoned halfway to the boat, and we missed a handful more.
Looks like that is going to conclude my 2017 season. Good luck to everyone out there this weekend, hope to hear of some big fish hitting the decks!
Already looking forward to springtime fishing!
