Weather-Very Nice! WT- 49F Method- Pulling Boards, jigging, and searching hours and hours for bait. Got to the lake at 7:30am. Right away had large schools of bait under my boat so I threw the net and came up empty several throws. Then realized it was small peanuts that were getting through the net. I did get several in the boat but threw them back thinking I could find better bait. WRONG! Bait seemed to be deeper than I'm able to reach. After searching most of the morning without luck, I was seeing some fish on the graph so I grabbed my jigging rod and chased the skunk from my boat very quickly with a 28'' fish. Little while later put another smaller fish in the boat. After fishing a while longer and seeing a few fish busting, things quieted down so I went searching for bait again. Threw my net on what must have been a big boulder and lost it. THAT was my biggest disappointment of the day. I did have another net along so I kept hunting. After hours and hours of frustration, I found some good bait in about 9fow in a tiny creek. Threw the net and 5 of the nicest baits I have caught (PB bait ) so far were in the net. Man was I pumped! Threw a few more times but couldn't locate any more. Since it was getting later on in the afternoon I just took the baits I had and fished with them until dark. Had some swirls, one blowup, and then a fish took the bait, the rod was doubled over I tried to set the hook but the fish let go. Overall a fun day with some more learning done! At least I hope.

Those same 2 ducks tried to get in my boat today. I searched for bait for 4 hours then gave up. Looks like catfishing time at Buggs Island Lake now!

I think my next trip will be to Hopewell in search of a cat! Never did it before so I guess we'll see what happens. ON the bait subject I admire these guys that seem to be able to catch a dozen dollar bills then move around a little and catch a few mongos in 35 ft of water then for good measure, top of the tank with a couple peanuts from who knows where. Oh the day when I can accomplish such a feet! Oh, and they probably get it done before sunrise to!

Put in at Jordan point marina. Go down river. There is the main channel then a second channel to the right of the islands. Fish just on the edge of the channel.

Jordan point marina sells mongos frozen. They can be tough at times to catch at times too.
