Wow! I think I am finally catching up on my rest.
My 12 year old daughter and I were ready to start deploying boards and I asked where the net was. She handed me the small bait net. Uh oh, miscommunication when we were loading the boat at 530am. We turned around to go back for the net.
The morning was slow with a couple of nervous bait. Before mid day we landed our first 34 in striper on the river side.
We moved to another location since it was slow. We were alnost finished with the pull when another boat was pulling towards us. We talked and I gave way for him to take the inside lane. As soon as I did he caught a fish rite where we were headed. Congrats. My 12 year old is watching and listening to my every word. She heard me congratulate him and move on.
Im thinking about where to go now. Ive heard Jason say 100 times, no need to look for fish if you have found fish. I headed back to our original spot. Soon afterwards, a nice fish was on, only to pull off. I looked at my daughter and said that broke my heart. She laughed and laughed, then I laughed.
A few moments later the hammer was on, he starts heading towards the trees, Im thinking dont horse him. Kaylee gets all the boards out of the way with the big net in hand. A nice 37 3/4 in was brought on primetime! We had some more time and landed a 33 3/4 in. During that fight my kid starts telling me a story about her mother and hair color. Im thinking, im trying to catch this fish. The bite turned on it was time to go.
I really thought we were out of it. We stayed after it until the very end, which it paid off.
It was exciting, and thanks to everyone for congratulating us. Its not always this good. For the one who is struggling to catch fish.
Do not give up! Most people sit at home wishing they could catch fish. Others go out and do it.
Remember, winners never cheat and cheaters never win.
Thanks Striper Mafia! Thanks for the chilli too! Kaylee did not complain one time that it was cold. I am blessed!
