Section: Mid BW TIME FISHED: 7-11:30 and 4-8:30 WT: 70-72 Bait: $Bill Gizzards
Headed out with the ole lady with bait from the home tank at first light. Decided I would run and gun multiple areas to see if I could find fish working their way up with cooler water temps. BW side has been very hit or miss lately. Was running 2 boards each side with light weight to freelines, 1 down line and a float out the back at each spot. When I was able to find fish they just killed my bait and left it for big bird food. Was at the point I was about to run a stinger hook on the $bills. Had a bunch of pull downs with skinned tails and one awesome chase from a smaller fish that lasted a while on the only money maker I put out. He even did a full breach out of the water at the end before giving up. (That's how I seen his size). Morning SKUNK! Ole lady was frustrated we couldn't hook a fish so went on a bait run for evening and to replenish home tank. At least bait was easy and it was a one and done. She got to sort the bait which she enjoys and I threw the net a couple more times while she was doing that to try for some Mongos.
She was done after our morning trip so headed out alone for an evening trip. Decided to stay a little closer to home and fish Gills. Same set up as morning but decided to rig some casting gear and fish artificial from the casting deck while pulling boards. Had 3 lines go down at once around 530 and ended up landing 2 small striper in the 20" range. No more action on the live bait after that but wore the largemouth out casting the rest of the evening and after dark. Had a couple 4-5 lb fish so the evening wasn't a bust. Got in to the green fish bite so good I was fishing under the UV lights until the call to get home came. Haha
