Matthew had a friend over who likes to fish. So that's all the reason we needed to hit the lake early Saturday morning. Myself, Matthew, Jayden and Kaden(matts friend) met up with PrimeTime at the ramp around 6:15 and headed out. WT was 68 but not for long. We headed down to a main channel spot and put out a spread of 6 planers and 2 floats. We pulled them for quite a while with very little action. Finally our outside board started getting super nervous and got slapped around and swatted at at least 8 to 10 times before the fish finally cooperated and found the hook. Kaden was on the rod a did a very good job landing his new PB at 36.5" and 19.5lb. We fished several hours after that with no action until Jayden had a planer go down and landed a very nice 8lb 21.5" large mouth. Got it right in front of some tournament bass fishermen who were drooling at the monster bass. Not too long after that fish we were able to get a couple more of the correct species of fish in the boat as the WT soared to 74 by the afternoon. We called it quits about 4:30 as our bait was running out and the boys were ready to eat. It was a success day but not fall yet. It won't be long now but some rain and cooler weather sure would help.
