Arrived a little before daylight. At daybreak, found baitfish easily. Two throws of a net and our bait tank was full of 5" to 9" Gizzard Shad. After some lengthy searching, found some stripers in the 15' or less depth range. Set out 5 planer boards and 2 free lines and started trolling. Trolled until noon with only one pull on bait. Had depleted our bait supply by this point. Took a ride to Gills Creek to scout a few areas with sonar. Didn't find much of interest. Went back to Blackwater and pulled boards until dark. Caught one 11" striper and released it. Seemed energetic and eager to swim when released. Saw schools of baitfish in almost every location we went to today. Lake is still low and there are plenty of hazards, so be cautious.
