Went Saturday the 30th-found plenty of fish and could not get them to bite. Went to same general area yesterday morning (upper Roanoke) and couldn't mark a single fish. Will try again this weekend.

Thanks for the report, maybe better luck next time. What bait were you using? I have been having a difficult time "catching" too.

Thanks guys. I have been using dollar bill size gizzards. Friend of mine has been having some luck using small alewives. I'm headed to the lake tomorrow- will see how the smaller bait works.

keep in mind that in Sept / early Oct there are tons of young of the year shad/ales out there schooling around - and the fish are often keyed in on that smaller bait especially in Sept.
