Surprised there's not more reports since there were boats everywhere this weekend. Probly the most I've seen out since I started fishing 4 years ago. Long story short. Bait was easy. Fish had lockjaw. Marked lots of fish but no love.
Headed to coast mid week to try and catch some big drum, kings, Spanish, albacore and anything else that wants to bite!

Was out a while 9/30 , caught one and had at least 6 or 7 other strikes. The fish either got the bait on the strike or killed it and never came back to eat it. A crowd appeared and kinda elbowed me out. So I left. Sounds like you gonna have a good time at the coast.

what a great fish. the sonar image shows a shot very similar to many I caw while fishing week before last. huge pods of herring/alewife hugging the bottom - long, narrow formations. unmistakable. I didn't see any striper activity but it wasn't far away.
