Fished up near Hardy today. Fished 2 planers with no weight, 2 redo rig floats with light weight and 2 down lines. Found some nice shad 4-6". First fish caught was a nice 33". Caught 2 more that were 26" and 27". Hooked up one that peeled my drag off about 100 yards of line . Ended up wrapping up in another line then came loose. Around 1:00 I had a good hit on one of the planers, ended up with my pb. 40" fish. Ended up hooking himself deep in the mouth, took a little to get the hook but was able to revive him good and he swam off. Didn't want to try and dig out the phone for a pic. Oh well, it was a good day. Had several other pull downs. Used 2/0 octopus hooks, think I'm going back to circle octopus hooks.

Great report and congrats on the 40" PB! My goal for the rest of 2017 is to finally break that ellusive 40" barrier!

Congrats on your PB. I would love to tangle with a 40" striper myself. Thanks for the report.
