I decided to head out sat. morn. I had checked some previous years' notes and decided to head up the lake (from the lower section of lake). WT 84. I left just before 6:00am. I get to a cove I have not fished this year. I checked the back area, no fish. The middle section of the cove showed some singles so I decided to set up and come out of the cove. 4 light lines on planers, two down lines and a float out the back. As I came out the cove and rounded the point, an inside planer gets popped and comes back up. A few seconds later, the other inside board is nailed and as I am bringing in the fish, a 30' down line gets hit. Both are about 28". I decide to keep these fish for the freezer. Ten minutes later an outside planer gets hit hard and starts stripping off line. I take my time getting this 32" fish to the boat. I kept him in the water, unhooked him and he swam away very quickly. By this time, the boat traffic had started to pick. I headed in and picked up my wife and by 9:30 we were setting out again. We did not catch any more fish, but everything had moved deep. Boat was getting busy and water was a bit choppy. We fished for another hour or so with no sniffs.
