AT-68-75, WT 76-77, BAIT- smallish Ales, SET- 1 free line planer off each side, 1 light lined planer bank side, 2 light lined planer floats out the back and 1 down rod.
Went up to the dam area and pulled a near by creek. Got started at 6:10am what a beautiful morning. Only boat in the creek all the way through. I guess that should have been a sign. I pulled two boards right close to the bank. I saw a fish hit top water where a tree was out in the water so as I trolled to it I threw a jointed Redfin at it. 3 striper chased it to the boat one being 30"+ they would swipe at the it but would not hit it. this was a top water not a diver. First time I have seen stripers chase. It was an awesome feeling anticipating a hit that didn't happen. Man they are fast. Pulled the bait right over the area with out a sniff. so I circled back with a fluke in hand with no luck. I cast on several points as I made my way out. I ended up seeing 6 striper chase my redfin but would not hit it. My bait was pulled over every one I saw as well but never had a striper bite. I keep the skunk away with boating about a 3lb large mouth and a 2lb Small mouth. Called it quits at 9am to pick up the family for boat church.
