I came up to the lake Friday night to throw some plugs at points. The wind was roaring, but I decided to go out anyway. I headed out about 8:00pm and headed to some well known points. I threw everything I could think of. After an hour of this and no bites, I headed back to the dock to get things ready to go out Sat. morn.
After getting bait I headed out about 5:30am Sat. morning to more wind. I decided to head to some points and just sit. After 15 minutes one of the front rods fires off and after a short fight, he broke off. I re-bated and after about 45 minutes, I was getting ready to pull up and go somewhere else. The same rod goes off and starts screaming. After a nice fight and the net in one hand/rod in another, this thing comes unbuttoned. I do not normally talk to myself but I start doing just that when another rod goes off. I get this one in and it is a nice 26". By then the wind has moved me all around. I move and re-set. Another 20 minutes later, a front rod goes off and this fish is pulling drag big time. After another good fight, This fat 28" fish is netted. As I started to move back in place the wind really picked up and I packed up and headed back to the dock.
Two netted and two lost.

Windy? It was terrible. I took a buddy from work and his 12 year old son out Saturday, had it planned for several weeks, looking to catch a few bass. Neither one of them had ever been fishing from a boat, just ponds and river fishing. We put in at the State Park and headed down past the dam, looking for some clear water, maybe to see a few on beds. Could not get out of the wind, it was chasing us around every point. The ride back into the wind all the way was something, the boy loved it laughing all the way, glad I had my rain suit on. We did manage to catch a few fish and had a great time, even let the boy get up front and run the trolling motor while his dad and I just sat back and talked.
