My first report on this forum. I just got to our house on Craddock for our annual May-June visit. Based on my neighbor's recommendation, I headed to the area near R12. Got some nice bait under my light at the dock. Put out free line, planer, and one down line. Marked a bunch of fish at various depths in deep water in the middle of the channel. I had one hard pull on the free line, bait clicker screaming but as soon as I got the rod out of the holder, it went limp . That has been a rare thing for me since switching to circle hooks several years ago. Put up with the wind blowing my tritoon all over the lake for another hour with no luck. Gave up and headed back to the dock. My neighbor stayed out there for another couple of hours. He and two family members came back with six fish, all just under the slot.

Thanks for the report. Is your neighbor Robert Shuey? Yes. Robert has become quite the striper fisherman in short order.
