Started out at the state park in search of bait. Found some flipping in around docks in a shallow cove with only 1 boated but at least a decent 1 bait. Decided to make a move down the lake in hopes of uncovering something to work with.
Well... that didn't work. So with 3 plus of hours of searching for bait wind beating the heck out of the boat and the sun frying us like eggs, we decided to fish the one bait. Optimism was truly high, all I kept thinking was one bait= one fish! WRONG!!! A month ago I would be making this post that it was my ability of throwing the net. But a good friend and great fisherman helped me correct that incredibly!
Bait held on strong fought of a few chases and promising rolls that were going to send this skunk away for the day! Wrong again!! Marked a few fish 10-20' range that wanted nothing to do with a buck tail, or artificial.

Sorry to hear about the bait problems - sounds like a lot of folks had trouble catching them this past weekend.

That's what I've been reading. A lot of positives from this weekend though. When things are slow for me I can really pay attention to what all is going on around me and learn.

Great first report - they all aren't gonna be catching reports and that's cool - we all often learn more when we don't catch than when we do
