Got out yesterday evening about 6 or 6:30pm and headed down lake to try with my buddy Brock. We caught a handful of dinks or so and marked thousands of fish on the lower end very shallow. We weren't sure there were any better fish down in the area we were until I saw one swirl and I casted over in the ring and this guy below ate it. It was a handful to deal with on light tackle - pretty sure it hung me in some junk in 5ft of water so we moved the boat over top of it and got it freed and then it still bulldogged me for a good bit - fun fight! Ended the night back up lake for a quick 15min pull before dark near the house - had a massive explosion on a board as we were reeling up but it didn't eat. Water at my house was real dingy (see tank pic) and I'm below the bridge. Honestly, I don't think I ever looked at the water temp - upper 60s / low 70s I'd guess. Btw, I got gas at Bridgewater last night after swearing never to again after having issues with a tank of it last year - well, you guessed it, my issues came back when we tried to head in last night. Luckily we were close and I could troll to the house pretty easily. Hopefully I can get it started next time down and run that crap all out of my tank. It's some combination of that fuel and my fuel system that do not agree as I know several who use it with no issues. Nice 17lber - notice the deck - that's what it's supposed to look like! Hadn't added bait yet

It's due for it's first cleaning of the year come Memorial Day weekend. Twice a year is all you need - otherwise, you're just wasting fishing time.

I am with Yam I kept my boat clean as I went and could never let mine get like that. That is why I cruised with a brush and a wash down system! Oh and very nice fish.

Great trip sorry to hear about the fuel.
