Came to the lake Friday to fish the tournament Saturday. My boat had been in the shop and thought it would be out, but learned Friday that had encountered some problems were still working on the motor. Fortunately the marina isn't far from my house, so put the boat in the water with the plan to fish with my trolling motor and stay close.
Caught bait and had a tank of decent ales. Woke up in the morning and found a tank of mostly dead bait. Somehow I had dislodged the hose from the pump as it goes to the bait side, so all of the water was just circulating on the filter side. Had about a dozen ales to work with, and they weren't in great shape. Didn't want to waste my batteries trying to find bait (challenging enough for me as it is) so went with what I had. Fished the mouth of Craddock near the islands and the shoals with a couple of planners and a couple of free lines. Picked up one 26" fish on a free line and a bait stealer/green fish.
Got to meet a couple of guys at registration, which I enjoyed. Couldn't stick around at check in as I had a family commitment to get home to Saturday night. Couple of frustrations, but had a good time nonetheless--and learned to check the bait tank better at the end of the night.

I've had that happen a time or two as well - knocked the pump loose with the filter when putting it back in - came back down the next morning to find a tank of dead bait. Think it happened once to me on a Club tourney day and then another time when fishing with ArchEnemy..... look into some clamps Glad you managed to at least get some to the boat to avoid the skunk - thanks for coming out for the tourney....
