WT 67 AT 53 climbing to 75 wind calm becoming breezy later plenty of pollen Decided to take my 'toon on a trip north of the bridge during darkness, as I haven't navigated SML in the dark before. One positive for the pontoon - it's easy to go slow! On the lake at 3:30am and started fishing at daybreak after netting some dollar bills in the back of a cove. Ran some free-line boards for awhile with no action. Stopped and anchored on a hump that had considerable activity showing on it. Caught a 12 inch striper (my personal best in the little guy category) and a white perch. Started moving back down the lake and marked some fish in the R31 area. I had 4 absolute smashes on my bankside boards where the board was completely pulled under and the bait ripped off the hook, but no hook-ups. I believe my hooks were too small. Finally I connected with this pig 36 1/2" and a bit over 19lbs. Released just fine. Untangled all the rods/lines from the trolling motor and big engine and called it a good day!
