Weather: 50-70 Sunny light wind
Water: 62-66 clear
Time: 9:30-7:30
Techniques: freeline planers, redirigs, 2oz d/l
Bait: jumbo nuts, mediums, mongo gizz
Spent some time the Sunday before heading up loading up on some mongo gizz. Probably could have found some at the lake but it could have taken anywhere from 1 hour to all day with my less than ideal bait catching. Havn't figured out Mike and Tylers secret mongo bait hole or shed tank location yet so I wanted to be ready. Medium bait was easy last time in the cove where we were staying so I left them at home.
Arriving at the ramp on a Wednesday thought it would be pretty secluded, but the warm weather brought out the masses. Once on the water though everyone seemed to scatter so wasn't to bad. Acquired some medium bait pretty quickly at the ramp and moved on down the lake to start fishing.
Pulled a stretch of bank that had been good to us previously and had several blowups and runs on bait, but the first fish didn't come until a couple hours in. Honestly my days are kind of running together but I do remember later in the day around 6:30 the fish came up and were busting small shad right on the bank. Tried casting but was unsuccessful. The boards were getting blown up on and we were constantly having to rebait. Probably could have had a mess if we were pulling smaller bait, but most of these fish seemed small anyway. Ended up with 3 for the day and weere glad the next day was supposed to be cloudy as the sun had drained us.

Weather: 50-60 Cloudy light wind
Water: 58-62 clear
Time: 7:00-7:30
Techniques: same
Bait: same
Woke up before light and freshened the tank up real quick with some jumbo nuts and a few medium shad. Drizzle had set in and made the trip up the lake cumbersome. Went where the fish had come up the night before and pulled the bank. Caught one pretty quick and that was it first thing. Made our way to the ramp and picked up my brother around 8:30. Pulled the other way this time with no love but a few smacks. Pulled it all in and made the trip down the lake to a creek to try something different. Rode 2/3rds back and pulled boards on the bank. Pulled a fish off a mongo gizz within a few minutes after deploying the spread. Pulled around in there for a couple hours and picked up a couple of fish. Moved back up the lake before we had to drop my brother off at the ramp. Fishing was pretty slow the rest of the day. Last couple of hours we moved back to the creek and picked up a couple more fish before heading in. Think we ended up with 5 and missed triple that.

Weather: The best kind. 50-55 Rain light wind.
Water: 57-58 Clear to stained in the back of the creek
Time: 8:30-10:30
Bait: same

The weather report was calling for tstorms so we loaded the boat the night before in case it was nasty the next day. Woke up checked the radar looked outside and decided it was time to fish. Light rain at this point with no thunder or lightning. Loaded up on some jumbo nuts and deployed spread. Caught the first fish within 5 minutes on a bankside planer. Kept pulling the bank as the wind picked up and the downpour started. This immediately triggered some fish as this pushed through. We had 2 bankside planers get blown up on and a channel side. Fish were hitting the bait aggressively but just wouldn't commit. Seemed to be the story of the trip. I'm sure just smaller fish, but they still fight. For the time fished this ended up being our best day and we boated 3 and missed well over 10 fish before packing it in to get ready for youth day turkey hunting. Need to work on my big gizz calluses.
