I headed out today at 2 from oak grove. The plan was to crappie fish but the wind was brutal. I changed plans and had a tank of gizzards by 3. I fished a new to me creek south of the bridge from 330 til 6. Bank side freelines produced two slot stripers and a pig largemouth. I had several chases and blowups also.
Temp 60ish Wind brutal and from all directions Water 56, wet and clear Water where I got bait, 65 and muddy. 1-2' deep Bait tank light, natural sun Mangos and moneymakers, extra cured 5' leashes Only the moneymakers gettin bit

Sweet, adjust and conquer. I got a order of crappie goodies in the mail a couple days ago. Think I may give um a try soon.

Great report! Love it! Always good when you make big adjustments on the fly and they work out.

I was pleased, especially considering the conditions. I searched for the crappies a while but couldn't keep a line tight. I was actually in the very back of a creek probing some brush when I saw the gizzards go swimming by. And that's when my plans changed!
