Put the boat in Saturday morning around 8. Caught a good number of Ales at the dock Friday morning about 4am. Went to Bull to try and find some bait in the back. Didn't have any luck. I did mark some but not a lot. Started pulling after about an hour of searching. WT:50.5-52 AT 50's-75, Pulled 3 bank side boards 2 free one with a light weight. pulled two TOS planner floats out the back, 1 creek side board and a Down rod. Had two pull backs on the first pull. Moved down and tried a different area and caught a 23" and hooked up on another one on the weighted board that was hard to move. Felt like a good one. Popped the hook close to the boat. Put on a U-rig and trolled the main channel near X-mas tree. Hooked one within the first min. came unbuttoned. Headed in for lunch. Took the wife and son out in the evening to Gills and tried for bait with no luck. Saw some stripers chasing bait and busting top water. Made a couple casts but another boat was coming around the bend and pulled that bank the rest of the evening. Pulled the other bank with no luck. Must have thrown the net 50 times with only catching a few peanuts. Headed back out Sunday morning at 7. Wt-52-55 AT 60-69, Same set as the Sat. morning. Hooked up on a 29" and got him in. Pulled until 11 and caught one more green fish. Went out in the rain Sunday evening just pulling a U-rig and exploring. No luck. Monday got up to Gills where we saw the striper busting. At-60-70 Wt 54-56 Had the area to ourselves. Pulled until 11am with only two pull backs. Called it a weekend. It rained pretty hard Sunday night not sure if that turned the fishing off Monday morning or what but there was not much going on. Saw some bait but nothing really concentrated. All in all a good weekend. This bait thing can be tough though.
