I don't often post anything on this board but I do take a look every day. I am not much of a writer or a story teller but I feel the need to contribute when I can. I seems to me there aren't as many reports getting posted as there used to be. I really appreciate reading the reports of others....so thank you guys.
Scheduled some much needed time off and got to the lake early to do some bait catching and fishing before the tournament.
Put the new bait cage in. This is the second attempt at cage building. My first cage build was a fail.
With the new cage in place it was time to hunt bait. Found nice Gizzards in 8' to 10' of water. Saw very little flipping. Caught the majority by throwing on small groups found on the side scan.
Good size bait was not a problem. The bait in the new cage stayed in great shape.
The first part of the week most of our Stripers were running this size.
We caught a nice bass or two almost every day.
Here is a rare afternoon when the wind wasn't howling.
Later in the week the wind got worse but the fish got bigger.
My main fishing partner is my wife. She is always ready to go no matter what the weather is doing. She is truly a trooper. She deserved this fish. I think I was more excited than she was.
We saw it before it hit. Actually saw two of the big ones before they hit.
Our biggest fish before the tournament went 37", 37", 38" & 39". We had a great few days but wondered if it was gonna continue.
Well to wrap this up......It didn't continue. Tournament day came and we fished hard. Only had one bite all day.
