3/18 After a hour of resting in the vehicle, daylight was fast approaching to begin March Madness tournament. Kaylee and I took off. WT 48-50 Partly cloudy Shortly after 7am we pulled 3 pbs, light lines with mongos. The show stopped with loud noises coming from the tm. I thought there was no way the bait would even get nervous with all that noise. I counted it over. I was glad to hear boats go by because there motors would drown out my problems. About 735 am my first mate and I put the first fish on board. 32.5 in. By 930 am we added a 27 in, 28 in and lost two other stripers. In order to be competitive I knew we needed a bigger fish. Time was slipping by. We moved to area I was not familiar with. Bam! There it was! A 37.25 in was on board with my first citation at sml! All fish were released successful! Thanks to all my friends who congratulated Kaylee and I. It really makes us feel good. Kaylee wanted to make sure I told Striper Mafia she was going to fish in the tourney. 3/20 Went to pick the boat up to work on tm. Had some time so Kaylee and I decided it was prime time to fish! WT 50-52 Cloudy Only had a couple of bait. Took off to deploy a couple of free line pbs. Fished for an hour and had a pic taken with a 29.5 in. Fished for a hour. Here is a pic of the bait I used. Look at mwards pics and you will see the same bait. I still can't figure how he used my bait. Released! Thanks to Striper Mafia for putting together a GREAT tournament and educating anglers to let them go so they can grow!

Harley - those pics above are a major reason why we do these tournaments - thanks for getting Kaylee out there with you. On that bait - funny - I'm pretty since mine got eaten on Sunday afternoon I used to think those black marks were tumors - but starting to increasingly thing they are scar tissue from released baits - yours and mien would be about where someone would hook a gizzard in the top - and I often see them on the nose - such as where a hook would have gone through a nostril or other part of the mouth.....
