Hit the water about 5:30pm Friday for a quick hour. It was blowing a gale and cold as heck out there. Hit a nearby creek and hoped for the best. Made about a 500yd pull and nailed this little 12 at the end of it. Circled the spot once and decided to move on. My buddy Brock was standing on my dock with his thumb up as I went by, so picked him up for the final 30min of daylight. We hit another creek and nailed a 10lber right off the bat then had no action to dark. I threw the net twice and got 4 mongos to replace the 4 we had taken out of the shed tank. I would have thrown more as we covered up in mongos but I couldn't move my fingers they were so cold, so we headed back to the house about 6:45pm. Water temps were 50-52 - air temps with the wind chill were Alaska like. The two fish we caught were smack on the bank. Gizzards were 1-6ft deep roaming in packs of 10-25gizzards on the sidescan. They weren't really flipping, but if you blasted some shallow water, you could pick them up on the sidescan and know where to throw. Big gizzards are literally stacked in every creek I've been in this spring - fantastic gizzard population right now.

Great job! Thanks for the shad info. The floor of your boat looks like mine, dirty.
