Weather: Cool morning, warming into low 70s, W winds 5-10 (more like 5-20 with 30 gusts after lunch) Water: 50-55 degrees, 3-4 feet clarity Method: Pulled free-lined gizzards behind planers Left the house at 3:30, at the ramp by before 5:00, on the water by 5:30. Spent the pre-dawn throwing the net... a lot. I did better in the shallow mud blind casting than in the deeper water. Managed enough for the day and with one nice big bait by 7:30, but kept fooling around for another hour for a few more pieces. In all probability I'd have done better to pull what I had while it was early. Once started I decided to pull two bank side boards, ambitious for me as that had been a disaster in the past, but it worked well today--I'm getting better at it. I pulled for over an hour without so much as a swirl until just before 10:00 when my further bank board with the 12 incher got nailed! All I saw was the bait on the surface laying on its side. So I picked up the rod and waited for her to come back for it... she did, and we were hooked up. I had my hands full with this one once I had it in the boat. 35.5" and just under 18 lbs. A new PB. My other baits were closer to dollar bill size and didn't get any real action the rest of the day. By early afternoon I was tired of fighting the wind--at one point I was drifting 3.5 mph, so I hit the ramp around 3:00.

Congrats on your new pb moondog. I expect that was lots of fun on a yak.
