My boat is not big. Wondering what is the smallest bait tank i can use to hold 12-15 nice baits in? (8''-12'' Gizzards) Can a 20 gal. tank do the job? Thanks!

A 30 gallon creekbank is 23" in diameter. I've held dozens of gizzards in mine with no problem in cooler water. It'll hold all the bait you can use in a day. A 20 gallon super2 has a bait side similar in size to the 30 gallon creekbank. It'll hold just as much bait. It's 21" wide and 27 long.

I don't like 20 gal tanks for larger gizzards due to the limited size of the tank and the turning radius for them.... and the water volume is just so small. For 12-18 baits 10" and smaller maybe.... its ok for alewifes in numbers, but to me a 30 gal is about the min for any reasonable # of larger gizzards

I have a 30 gallon SBTII. Space in my boat is tight, and after I bought the 30 gallon I found out it was about an inch too wide to fit where I had planned to put it. I've come up with another set up which works fine, but I was surprised to learn after I bought the 30 that I could have bought the 35 gallon tank and it would have fit where I wanted to put it given that it is three inches more narrow side to side. Here are the dimensions of the different size SBTII tanks. I think the info is current.
20 Gal. Oval (27"L x 21"W x 22"H) 30 Gal. Oval (32"L x 24"W x 24"H) 35 Gal. Oval (36"L x 21"W x 24"H) 40 Gal. Oval (36"L x 24"W x 24"H) 50 Gal. Oval (40"L x 24"W x 24"H)
