The last 2 days have been the perfect intersection of all things good! First, bait has been really easy. Both days I started with a loaded tank of 10-15 inch bait with minimal throws. Typically, easy bait means that the fish will not be eating it. Not the last few days! Second, the fish are not only eating big bait, they are doing it very aggressively. Big splashes, strong fights and very healthy fish that return to the water with just as much fight as they had when they first hit. Day 1 was especially good. I caught several beauties, with the largest hitting 20 pounds. Day 2 was still good but I never broke 12 pounds. Yet the smaller fish were just as feisty as the larger ones. Finally, I had a major breakthrough. Around 1pm, the sun started to show and the big bait started smacking the surface. And I'm talking the kind of sounds that make any bait lover shake. Yesterday, this occurred as well and marked the beginning of the bigger fish hitting hard. My breakthrough was that although it was clear that things were getting ready to heat up, I actually packed my boat and headed to the meet and greet. This is like a crackhead turning down crack and going to church! I was very proud of myself and really enjoyed meeting many awesome folks today. There is way more to life than fishing? RIGHT? Anyhow...here are some highlights:

I know last time I said you were an elite fisherman you declined the title but I'm going to have to disagree with you

I know last time I said you were an elite fisherman you declined the title but I'm going to have to disagree with you JT, I'm nothing but a big ball of adrenaline that has a job and an awesome wife that allows me to fish on days when the crowds are not around. There is nothing elite about me. In fact, if you were to watch me fish, you would wonder how I'm still alive let alone how I ever catch fish. I appreciate the compliment, but anyone can catch fish if they are passionate about doing so and most importantly, have the time to get on the water.. ALOT!

Very well, I seem to have always had the passion but lacked some knowledge and equipment but these I am slowly learning

Awesome report! Thanks for the post, especially the pics. I'd like to have come to the M&G, would have been great to meet some folks, but I had a transmission die over the weekend and things got complicated.

Nice report Yammy!! Had a good time Saturday evening, for sure. I am sure a few on the boat are wondering about our sense of humor.
