Air:45-65 Wt:46 Wx : constant 5 to 10 wind Overcast to partly cloudy
Had to take advantage of the spring day in January! Bait was available.. generally small to dollar bills with a few....whatever you call an 8-inch alewife... bite was consistent from 7 till 10 and I managed to hook up with 3 and not land any. One was a nice fish for sure. Quite a few short bites mid morn...ended up catching a stuffed largemouth on a later pass. Finally got a 24-inch fish to the boat at 1:30..after return to bait fishing. The birds sure thought it was spring with their morning chorus but the fish knew it wasn't!! Never saw gulls really doing much... maybe someone else got into some casting action?? most folks were hitting the water after sneaking away from work later in the day.
