WT- 51 AT - COLD at 7:30am, Not so cold at 2pm. Arrived at 7:30. I never once thought about the fact the ramp would be a sheet of ice. Thankfully the fisherman in front of me was prepared and put some sort of grippy stuff down on the ramp. (he said it wasn't ice melt) I'll make this short and sweet! Big flock of birds. Wet Jig. 3 fish landed. Many strikes Missed. Fish disappear. I go home. Fun day!

Good to hear that you had some luck. I had put in at 8:00ish. Saw birds a capt.quarters, but, no stripers. Saw boats jigging. Tried my luck with no luck. I'll have to follow you around one day. Happy to hear that you got on them.

Now on to another subject, saw your post about loosing your homemade spoon the other day an thought it would be really cool to catch a fish on a lure I made. Soooooo....... I stole your plans and made myself one! (hope your not offended) After catching two fish on a jig this morn I decided to try hard to catch one on my homemade spoon. Had several hits and FINALLY fish on....BUT it got off after a brief battle. Oh well, maybe next time.

Thanks for the report. Nice to know somebody's chasing them down. I've been away for two weeks now but hope to fix that next week. You and tblspoon have inspired me to cut up some of my wife's silverware now. Should be a good conversation starter at the in-law's over Christmas.

So happy that y'all are enjoying the spoon. You can take a punch and hammer to knock some of the curve out of it so that it doesn't spin as much. The dollar store has a bunch. Need to figure out what to do with the handles. I'm thinking jigging umbrellas called "chandeliers".
I'll be out at Hales on Monday.
I might not have been there at 8, now that I think about it. I put in around 8 and looked for bait to throw a cast net at. I did see the boats, though, when I got to the bridge. I asked one person, he said the fish were athe 60', that's when I lost some lures.
Nice to see you catching them.
