Primetime and I along with Matthew and Kaylee headed out friday afternoon in search of bait. it was a bit tougher than we had hoped. We threw for it for several hours and finally gave up in hopes that we had enough to do some good. After lines in Dad, Matthew and I pulled a full spread for about an hour before we put the first fish on board. A nice fish at 32.5 inches. It was several hours and several moves later before we landed our second fish of the day. This fish was a little better at 33.5". That took a little pressure off knowing we had two fish in the boat. The next fish came soon after and was no help at 29". He was also nice enough to tangle 3 rods on the way to the boat. As I was cutting and repairing all the damage from that one we had another bait get hammered Matthew was quick to the rod and did a great job with the hook set and landing of a skinny 34" fish that helped our tournament. With less than an hour left to fish another board got slammed and I grabbed the rod and the fight was on. Drag screaming as the fish headed for the trees. I tightened the drag some and managed to pull it back to the surface. I knew it was a good fish. We got it in the net and it turned out to be a my personal best a Beautiful 38" that tipped the scales at a little over 24 lbs. After that fish we called it a day and headed to the check in. The last 2 fish made it a great tournament for us. We finished 2nd and won the big fish prize. Matthew also won the youth division. Thanks to the Striper mafia guys for putting on another first class event. A big Thanks also to Primetime for Helping us out with everything!

Great job! 24 pounds! Wow! That's exciting for all of us. Let's hope that is a trend! Congratulations Jason and Primetime! You guys rock!
In terms of bait... OMG! I have had a beat on em for 2 months in a row. I arrived Friday expecting to load up the tank and do some pre fishing. 14 hours later I only had 3 real mongos. The only good thing about Friday was that I became the dollar bill fairy for many fishermen who didn't have bait.
Again.. Great job!

What a awesome citation! That thing is fat!
It was very windy and cold when we were looking for bait and Matt never complained, not once. I wish I had a pic of this but Matt and Kaylee were sitting on the bait tank together while we were hunting for bait. I asked Matt if he ever fished with a girl before and without hesitation he answered with his Mom. Matt is a great kid and very competitive. Believe me, he is super fast at grabbing the rod when PB goes does.
Congrats Team Lawrence! Thats a great family win rite there!

Congrats Jason!!!! I remember when you first joined the site and were asking questions ..... you have worked your way into being an awesome striper fisherman!!!! Thanks Bigun! It was the help from all of you more experienced fishermen that taught me so much. Also saved me years and years of learning on my own. So thanks to all of you guys who don't mind giving advice to us who are just getting started!

What a awesome citation! That thing is fat! When I downloaded that pic and saw the girth on that fish I pretty much didn't even need to look at the length of that fish to know it was going to be our Big Fish of the tournament! Great catch!
