Just got down for the first time in a while. One throw and caught a ton of really nice alewives. Reading all the reports everyone is chasing shad will they hit alewives this time of year. Thanks for all the help.

I caught a 29" one yesterday morning as I was putting out the boards on a alewive/blue back about 5"-6" long.

Last trip I made the stripers were chasing ale's up on the banks occasionally. I would surely think you would catch fish on them now.

I have caught fish at all times and seasons using alewives. Even now when big gizzards are supposedly "the thing" alewives on the bank will catch just as many fish.

Fish are honestly in every creek in the bw right now. Just pick a creek and pull bait. If nothing happens move on to another.
