WT-47-59
AT-32- warm
Sunny skies, light winds. Not a soul other than me and the ducks at the ramp.
Started out hunting bait and dollar bills were fairly easy again.
After getting bait I put out a spread of light line planers, floats and a down line.
I used weight on every line because all the fish I marked were below 25' to the bottom.
The early morning started off slow, but by midmorning until midday I had a little action.
Caught a couple of 27" fish and had what felt like a good fish on, but while I was wrestling the rod out of the holder it came out of the base still attached to the rod. Wouldn't you know it the line got wrapped around the rod holder still attached to the rod and I didn't realize it until it sounded like a 22 going off with a loud crack as the line broke.
So I made a circle to retrieve my board.
Around 1:30 -2:30 looked for larger bait, again lots of dollar bills so I refreshed my tank and gave up on the mongos.
I had two spots in mind for the evening. The first stop looked good, while putting my bank side planers out I heard that cinder block thrown in the water sound while getting a bait out of the tank. Expected to see a board going down but no .... it was running what looked like 4" ales up and out on the rocks. As a heroin flew over and landed looking for an easy meal I thought I got the wrong baits.
Went on down the bank as I put the rest of the lines out an a board disappeared with the drag ripping, while fighting the fish the whole rod seat broke and spun around the rod. I managed to land the fish though.
A nice 32.5" fish and largest of the day. Things picked up after that.
Fished until last light and headed In.
I talked to a yak man at ramp and I think it was lkmoon after reading his report.
Sorry I didn't talk much but I was tired and not looking forward to the hour drive home.
With warming temps the day was nice.
A free tip if fishing is slow get your lunch out and you will get a bite. Sounds funny but happens to me a lot.
