Weather - Clear skies with temperature starting in the mid 30s rising to the mid 50s Water - Clear 62-64 degrees Technique - 4 Planers most of the day We started at daylight looking for bait. It was not nearly as easy as it was a few weeks ago. Had to hit several creeks and were finally able to pick up a half dozen mongos and a couple dozen baits ranging from 8-10 inches. The better bait was 18-22 ft. deep. We pulled several creeks as we moved up the river. Really did not see many fish and when we did they weren't in the mood to eat. the fish we caught came when the sonar was blank. When they hit they was serious, very little play. Out first was a decent fish just shy of 30 inches. After losing another decent fish at the boat we headed a little further north to a spot that was productive the last time out and began marking fish right away. Had one on right away but it came off after a brief battle. Another 100 yds. up the way and a board was slammed. Turned out to be a second at almost 30 inches. We began seeing a few more fish but had no takers. Had to quit by 3 pm and we headed back. Even though we didn't catch but two fish it was a good day to fish and fun to be on the water. All fish hit 8-10 inch baits.

Nice ! That sure beats sitting at the house butchering a deer like I did.
My fishing itch needs to be scratched. Thinking maybe Monday.
