The better half was off today and decided to show her why I spent all her money on striper boat and gear. The only reason she went is the temperature was warm and no wind. WT was 64 at Moormans where we put in. Went up to the tressel to demonstrate my bait catching skills to her and hung my net on second cast in about 9 feet of water. Worked for about 30 minutes trying to get net loose to no avail. Thankfully I ordered a new net last week and should be here soon. I motored up river a little ways and two guys in a Carolina Skiff w/Honda engine saved the day for us. He let me borrow his extra net and I got a couple dozen good shad in short order. As I was returning his net he had some in his net he was going to give us if we needed. Sorry I didn't get your name but I really appreciate you helping us out or it would have been a short day. After we started fishing I convinced wife that I need a backup net for these type situations. She didn't say no but still not sure what that look was. It was slow going for us fishing but we did finally manage to boat one nice fish. Not such a great day for us fishing but enjoyed the time on the water with better half. I sure will be glad when cold weather gets here.
