I've got a week of vacation I can move around a little in the next couple of months. Granted I know things always vary year to year depending on weather and such, but when do y'all think would be a good period to target for taking it? I would like to hit a good time to fish artificial. Thanks

For artificial, I love Thanksgiving to Xmas. A spoon, your favorite top water lure and birds.
The best day of my artificial life was the day before Thanksgiving 3 years ago. There was storm warnings, high winds and torrential rain. No boats anywhere on the lake! Each and every cove within eyesight would periodically bust from sun up to sun down. The birds led you to the action. The main channel was white caps but the coves were still. It was magical.

Guess I'll go with the first two weeks of November to maximize the fishing and hunting options.
