Water temps 77 to 79 degrees Skies overcast with a good breeze Had a couple days off work and went hardcore fishing for the first time in a long time. Got bait very easily from the dock each evening with a mix of dollar bill gizzards and alewives. I had my first experience of trying to keep ales and gizzards in the same tank in warmer weather.... Does not work very well but i was able to keep them alive for most of the day. Slow start to Thursday fishing with a small 20 inch striper and a channel cat to show for my efforts. Thursday afternoon was a different story with a a couple nice fish in the 30 inch range caught along with 3 more in the lower 20s. All fish were caught on downlines above trees in creek mouths in 50 to 60 fow. Fishing turned bad on Friday and I caught a striper skunk. Had 6 or 7 bites and a couple fish on for brief seconds but the fish did not seem interested in eating. Saturday was more of the same as far as stripers go but I did manage to catch 3 real nice largemouths in about 15 mi utes off of a single point.
